Ayelet Torem is a Partner and Head of Amit, Pollak, Matalon & Co. Global Markets Practice. Born and raised in Israel and a Silicon Valley veteran, Ayelet oversees local and cross-border business activities and focuses on creating business value based on a deep understanding of the business and financial landscape of both locations, as well as the global markets in which APM is active, while drawing on her longstanding relationships with leaders in the governmental, financial, real estate, infrastructure and tech sectors. Ayelet is also a partner at Hi-Tech and Venture Capital Practice at Amit, Pollak, Matalon & Co.
Global Markets
In addition to the profound familiarity with the Israeli landscape, and being entrenched in the US and Europe, Ayelet leads the firm’s expansion to dynamic markets, collaborating with strategic partners and co-advisors in jurisdictions with synergies to Israel, including Australia, India, China, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, DACH countries and the United Arab Emirates.
Ayelet has been instrumental in identifying and leading investment and acquisition opportunities, advising on fundraising strategy, facilitating business objectives and overcoming complex cross-border legal and business situations in collaboration with APM’s other leading practices.
Ayelet works closely with entrepreneurs, fund managers and business managements vis-à-vis a large base of local and international investors spanning from HNWI and family offices, via funds, institutional investors, CVCs and leading stock exchanges.
High Tech and Venture Capital
Wearing her Hi-tech & Venture Capital hat, Ayelet is perceived as an industry leader in matters relating to Innovation and was named in the “100 Most Influential People In Israeli hi-tech” list. Ayelet has successfully led the formation of leading Innovation Centers in Israel, including in the food & agro sectors, construction, energy and finance ones, tailoring a custom-made innovation program for each organization to best serve its goals and needs. Ayelet represents Technological Incubators and Open Innovation Labs under franchise from Israel’s Innovation Authority (IIA), advises on the governmental tender process, investments and other IIA related matters.
Ayelet counsels funds and investment vehicles on formation matters, fundraising and investments as her insight and perception in launching investment vehicles are greatly admired. Ayelet also counsels key technology companies on various matters including corporate venture arms in their investments in Israel.
Taking great care with entrepreneurs and disruption at its bedrock, Ayelet advises many startup companies in multiple spaces and stages, acting as a strategic advisor to her client companies, providing legal advice, business guidance and a unique ability to introduce her clients to a cross-border network of investors she maintains an ongoing relationship with.
Prior to joining the firm, Ayelet lived in Silicon Valley where she served as Head of Business Development at the “California-Israel Chamber of Commerce” (CICC) focusing on connecting entrepreneurs, venture capital firms and key technology companies from California and Israel through cross-border programs and investments.
Between the years 1997 and 2005, Ayelet served as Deputy General Counsel at Tnuva, one of Israel’s largest corporations and a monopoly in its field. Ayelet worked closely with the executive management and led local and international mergers and acquisitions, complex negotiations, international transactions and management of claims. Ayelet gained a special expertise in antitrust.
Previously, Ayelet worked at several prestigious law firms before joining APM in 2009.
