    The European Union approved a pioneering Artificial Intelligence Act to establish new regulations for AI technology.

    In a historic first, EU negotiators forged an agreement opening the door for AI oversight.

    The proposed law addresses complex issues including use of facial recognition and creative AI applications. The European Parliament will likely formally approve it soon.
