As well as our strength in litigation, arbitration and mediation matters, we have specialist teams handling class actions, derivative actions and insolvency cases.
Our disputes department focuses on the following areas:
We are well known for handling complex corporate and contractual claims and disputes. We represent public and private companies on shareholder disputes, derivative actions, minority shareholder claims and disputes over the appointment of company officials and management. We represent creditors and provide them legal services for loans repayment. We also have a dedicated team for administrative law including disputes.
As well as advising on cutting-edge areas of finance such as disputes over crypto assets, we have a particular strength in assisting financial and insurance companies on class actions. Of 130 class actions we handled in 2022, 95 were for financial institutes. Our team is recognised by all legal ranking guides.
- Family Law and inheritance
Our team deals with wills, inheritance claims and disputes over family assets often for high-net-worth individuals.
Recognised by The Legal 500 and IFLR 1000 as a Tier-1 practice, our insolvency team deals with disputes for debtors, creditors, investors and other stakeholders through recovery processes, insolvency proceedings, debt collection and banking litigation.
Our Intellectual property Litigation team is highly experienced in all types of IP infringement cases, and will assist in defending your rights against infringers or claims of infringement. APM’s IP litigation team has special expertise in disputes concerning ownership of various IP rights, arising between business competitors, in the course of employer-employee relations, or in the dissolution of partnerships, and other IP based corporations.
We have handled such matters tried before all competent Israeli instances, as well as in cross-border and multijurisdictional conflicts while working closely with our colleagues in various countries, to protect our clients’ IP rights.
We represent some of the largest real estate and building companies in Israel as well as prominent investors in the real estate sector, private families, land owners and individuals on disputes regarding construction defects, delivery delays, claims against contractors or residents, dissolution of joint ownership and other contractual violations before the High Court of Justice, administrative tribunals and courts, Courts of Local Affairs, various regulators, appellate committees and more. We also represent clients on planning applications and disputes over change of land use.
Recent experience includes:
- The successful defence of a Nasdaq-listed real estate company against a US$45 million claim brought against its directors on the basis that shares had been issued in the company below market value.
- Representing a multinational in its capacity as shareholder in a real estate company active in the construction of projects worth over NIS 1 billion in Tel Aviv.
- Acting for one of Israel’s largest banks in seven debt collection cases, involving investigations and location of assets, the realisation and sale of assets and numerous court motions with a total combined value of US$350 million.
